PITTSBURGH'S 2ND ANNUAL YOUTH CUPCAKE BAKE-OFF & FUNDRAISER
April 7, 2018
Cupcake Wars Pittsburgh Style!
Cupcakes Most Wanted Partners with Higher Living Inc to bring Pittsburgh's 2nd Annual Youth Cupcake Bake-Off & fundraiser April 7, 2018. 10am-2pm (Lunch will be served)
Host of Bake-Off, Leah Baker Fowler
Cupcakes Most Wanted founder, Leah Baker Fowler, is a bright, talented, purpose driven 13-year old foodpreneur who loves baking. Inspired by playful times in the kitchen with her big sister and an encouraging “yes you can” from her grandmother, Leah started Cupcakes Most Wanted under the brilliant tutelage of her mother, Tia Baker, Cupcake’s Chief Operating Officer and breast cancer survivor.  Leah’s tenacious work ethic and dazzling creativity has resulted in a flavorful array of much sought after cupcakes that are each named after the person behind their inspiration. Leah’s signature cupcake—and favorite flavor—is Nan’s Sassy Sweet Potato, inspired by the sassy sweet potato pie recipe that made her great-grandma Eddings famous among friends and family.
Bake-Off Partner, Higher Living

Higher Living’s mission is to raise the socio-economic status of youth, adults and entrepreneurs in Greater Pittsburgh -and abroad- through education, collaboration, and community resources.

Higher Living is a provider of workforce and education-based service in the City of Pittsburgh and surrounding Allegheny County regions.  Several programs have been established and are provided by Higher Living to address the lack of education and workforce qualifications of youth and adults in the low-income areas of our City.

Higher Living provides industry-specific trainings, as well as business and nonprofit development programs to increase the number of youth and adult entrepreneurs in our struggling regions. This organization is also seeking to begin implementation of a robust in-school youth program to help fill the achievement gaps of African American students.

Why do we do this fundraiser?

We are pleased to announce the establishment of The Leah Baker Fowler Fund with POISE Foundation. The Fund was established by Tia Baker and Leah Baker Fowler of Cupcakes Most Wanted, and focuses on providing support to children fighting battles against cancer, as well as other charitable interest as determined by the dynamic mother-daughter duo.

Leah’s interest in helping children with cancer was stirred by her mother Tia’s triumphant battle against breast cancer, her natural philanthropic leanings, a desire to share her good fortune with others and to make a difference in the world.
